Oval Plate 24cm / Cobalt Blue Glaze

The Cobalt Blue range consists of organic shapes inspired by the mountainous alpine region of Gifu prefecture. The glaze is fired at low temperatures to create a unique 'crackle' effect over a deep blue background.

The kiln is hard to find, located in an old pottery town behind a maze of small side streets. Taking inspiration from nature and 'wabi sabi' culture, they are renowned for their glass glazes and vivid colours.

Slight irregularities in size, glaze and texture reflect the artisan nature of the product and are embraced.

General information & care instructions

Our tableware is food safe and can, with some care, be used in the oven, microwave and dishwasher. Sudden changes in temperature (eg. from freezer to oven) are likely to cause thermal shock, which will damage your item. Always place very hot items onto either wood or cloth.
